Platform Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Velora collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use our platform, applications, and related services (collectively, the “Platform”).

For users in India, Velora is operated by HIDDEN TALENT R&D PRIVATE LIMITED, 54, Main Sector Shastri Nagar, Bhilwara, Rajasthan, 311001, India (“Hidden Talent India”). For certain other regions, Velora is operated by Dhaasu LLC, 221 N. Broadway Street, Suite 3A, Middletown, DE 19709, USA (“Dhaasu LLC”). Together, we are referred to as “Velora”, “we”, “us”, or “our”.

This Policy is designed to comply with applicable data protection laws, including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), and other relevant international regulations where applicable.

2. Scope

This Policy applies to personal information we collect from:

  • Users who browse, register, or participate on Velora;

  • Event or trip organizers (“Organizers”);

  • Vendors and service providers using Velora;

  • Attendees purchasing tickets, passes, or services through Velora.

It does not apply to information collected independently by Organizers or vendors outside the Platform or to third-party websites and services that you may access via Velora.

3. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use Velora, we may collect the following categories of information:

3.1 Account and Profile Information

  • Name, username, display name;

  • Email address and phone number;

  • Profile photo, bio, and preferences;

  • City, region, or general location information you provide.

3.2 Event, Ticketing, and Transaction Data

  • Events you create, join, or show interest in;

  • Tickets purchased, ticket IDs, and booking history;

  • Check-in and validation logs (e.g., QR scans, time, venue);

  • Order IDs, payment status, and amounts;

  • Refund requests and dispute history.

3.3 Payment-Related Information

Payments are processed by third-party payment processors (such as Razorpay and Stripe). We do not store your full card details on our servers. We may receive and store:

  • Last 4 digits of your card, card type (if provided by processor);

  • Payment method type (UPI, card, netbanking, wallet, etc.);

  • Payment status (success, failure, pending);

  • Transaction IDs and references returned by the payment processor.

3.4 Communications and Content

  • Messages, posts, comments, and other User Content you share;

  • Support communications with Velora;

  • Reports, complaints, and feedback submitted by you.

3.5 Device and Usage Data

We may automatically collect technical and usage data when you use Velora, such as:

  • Device type, operating system, and app version;

  • IP address and approximate location;

  • Log files, error logs, and diagnostic information;

  • Feature usage, clicks, and in-app navigation patterns;

  • Identifiers for cookies or similar technologies where used.

3.6 Organizer and Vendor Information

  • Business name, contact person, and official email;

  • Bank account or payout details you provide for settlements;

  • GST, tax, or registration numbers where applicable;

  • KYC/KYB verification information requested to prevent fraud.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information for the following purposes:

  • To create and manage your account and profile;

  • To enable event discovery, planning, and participation;

  • To issue, validate, and manage digital tickets and passes;

  • To process payments, refunds, and settlements via payment processors;

  • To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud or misuse;

  • To provide customer support and respond to your requests;

  • To personalize recommendations and content (including via AI);

  • To monitor performance, debug issues, and improve our services;

  • To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

For users protected by the DPDP Act and similar laws, processing is generally based on your consent, performance of a contract (for example, when you buy a ticket), compliance with legal obligations, or our legitimate interests (such as securing the Platform).

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Where applicable, we may use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies to:

  • Keep you logged in and remember your preferences;

  • Measure usage and performance of the Platform;

  • Support security, fraud prevention, and diagnostics.

In web contexts, you may manage cookies via your browser settings. Some features of Velora may not function properly if certain cookies are disabled.

6. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

6.1 With Organizers and Vendors

  • To provide your name and contact details to the Organizer of an event you join or buy a ticket for;

  • To enable organizers and vendors to coordinate logistics and communicate event-related information;

  • To share aggregated, anonymized analytics about attendance or engagement.

Organizers and vendors are independent controllers of the data they receive and must use it only for lawful, event-related purposes. Misuse of attendee data is a violation of Velora terms and may result in account action.

6.2 With Service Providers

  • Payment processors (such as Razorpay and Stripe);

  • Cloud hosting, analytics, logging, or security service providers;

  • Customer support and communication tools.

These providers process data on our behalf and are required to protect it appropriately.

6.3 For Legal and Safety Reasons

  • To comply with laws, regulations, or legal processes;

  • To respond to valid law enforcement or government requests;

  • To protect the rights, property, or safety of Velora, our users, or the public;

  • To detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues.

6.4 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, user information may be transferred as part of the transaction, subject to applicable law and consistent protection standards.

7. International Data Transfers

Your information may be stored and processed in India, the United States, or other countries where we or our service providers operate. These locations may have different data protection laws than your home jurisdiction.

Where required by law, we implement appropriate safeguards to protect personal data transferred across borders, such as contractual protections and technical security measures.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to:

  • Provide the Platform and related services;

  • Maintain records of transactions, tickets, and refunds;

  • Meet legal, tax, and regulatory requirements;

  • Resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

When information is no longer required, we may anonymize or securely delete it in accordance with our internal policies and applicable law.

9. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location and applicable law (including the DPDP Act), you may have rights to:

  • Access your personal information held by us;

  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;

  • Request deletion of certain information, subject to legal retention needs;

  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;

  • Object to or restrict certain types of processing where permitted by law.

You may exercise some of these rights through in-app settings (for example, editing your profile or deleting your account). For other requests, you may contact our Grievance Officer or data protection contact using the details in Section 12.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit where appropriate, access controls, logging, and regular security reviews.

However, no system is completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and notifying us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

11. Children’s Privacy

Velora is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate consent where required by law. If we learn that such information has been collected inadvertently, we will take steps to delete it.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or data handling practices. Material updates will be communicated via the Velora app, website, or email where appropriate.

Your continued use of Velora after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
